Our Natural Ingredients
The following is a list of our natural ingredients used to make Buzzle Balm products; ingredients may differ depending on the product you are using but will contain some or all of the ingredients we have listed below. Please refer to your Buzzle Balm product label for the specific ingredient list.
Beeswax is produced by honey bees and has several benefits to the human body such as protecting the skin from various airborne allergens as well as providing slight anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and antioxidant qualities. Beeswax forms a protective barrier against irritants on the surface of the skin, while still allowing the skin to breathe. As well, Beeswax contains natural moisturizers that make it especially useful in protecting the tender skin on your lips by drawing moisture to the skin and sealing it in. Beeswax also contains Vitamin A, which may be beneficial in rehydrating and softening dry skin.
Cocoa butter comes from the beans of the cacao tree. Cocoa Butter is high in fat, and as such, it delivers deep nourishment and hydration to your skin. Cocoa Butter is also high in antioxidants, which can help combat skin irritations and the causes of skin aging.
Coconut Oil is a powerful moisturizer and its use or lack of use can mean the difference between flaky, dry skin, and smooth, radiant skin. Coconut Oil helps strengthen skin tissue, absorbs quickly into the skin and has the ability to sooth various skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis. Coconut oil also helps to delay the occurrence of wrinkles and protect skin cells from damage over time due to its levels of Vitamin E (antioxidant).
Dead Sea Salt
We use Sea Salt extracted from the Southern Dead Sea in Israel where the mineral content is found to be the highest. The waters from the Southern Dead Sea have a salt content of roughly 30%, compared to roughly 5% in our oceans. Its mineral composition is also different from ocean water with significantly less sodium chloride (table salt) and higher concentrations of Magnesium, Bromide, Potassium, and Calcium. The higher concentration of Bromide and Magnesium has been found to relieve certain skin-related allergic reactions through its cleansing and detoxifying properties.
Derived and extracted from the Mango’s seed kernel, Mango butter has a composition closely resembling that of Shea and Cocoa Butters, though the fatty acid content is slightly different. Mango butter has natural emollient (softening and healing) properties and has been used in tropical areas of the world for its skin softening, soothing, moisturizing, and protective abilities. Mango butter is an excellent source of essential fatty acids, as well as vitamins A, C and E, which all work to combat free radicals (molecules toxic to healthy cells). Mango butter also has the ability to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
Shea Butter is an all-natural product that has been in existence for many centuries, produced from the nut inside the apricot-sized fruit of the Shea Tree. The Shea Nut is crushed by hand, heated and ground into a paste. Water is then added and boiled and then the Shea Butter is skimmed off the top and cooled. Shea Butter is well-known for providing effective skin care; it is rich in oleic acids, stearic acid and natural vitamin E. Shea butter also contains the beneficial properties of being highly moisturizing for lips and skin helping to protect them from dryness and sunburn, highly nutritional as it contains vitamins A, D, E, and F as well as being an effective treatment for chapped lips, dry skin (including the feet), skin abrasions and blemishes.
Stevia Leaf Extract
As a product of nature, Stevia is a plant and its extract is made from the leaf of the Stevia plant. Extracts of Stevia leaves can be prepared by a number of methods including water extraction from the dried leaves, followed by a purification and crystallization process. At the end of the extraction process, the sweet components are the exact same compounds as the ones originally found in the leaf producing a highly purified stevia leaf extract that has been approved by major regulatory bodies for use in foods and beverages around the world. Stevia can be anywhere from 100 to 300 or more times sweeter than sugar, but has no carbohydrates, calories, or artificial ingredients.
Sunflower Seed Oil
Sunflower Seed Oil contains linoleic acid, an omega-six polyunsaturated fatty acid that is an essential part of a healthy diet. Sunflower Seed Oil is also a naturally healthy fat low in saturated fatty acids, cholesterol, trans-fat and sodium-free. Another benefit of Sunflower Seed Oil is that it contains alpha-tocopherol, a form of Vitamin E that acts as an antioxidant in your body and may strengthen your immune system as well as lower your risk of heart disease.
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet Almond oil is made from pressed almonds and is a light-yellow, odorless liquid with a nutty taste. Very similar in composition to olive oil, Sweet Almond Oil has been used for centuries and has nutritional, medicinal and therapeutic advantages. Sweet Almond Oil, when topically applied, may help protect your skin from the sun’s damaging Ultra-Violet (UV) Rays which have been linked to increased skin aging and several types of skin cancer. Sweet Almond Oil contains high concentrations of monounsaturated fatty acids; these unsaturated fats are linked to cardiovascular disease prevention. Almond oil is rich in vitamin E, which helps your body make red blood cells. It is also a potent antioxidant (substances that help protect your body from damage to its healthy cells) and are linked to a reduction in some chronic diseases including cancer and heart disease.
